Commanded ‘A’ Battery, 7/8 in Ft Sill after it arrived from Ft Bliss.  Time period was circa Feb 1966 thru July 1966 after which I PCS'd to Xuan Loc and the 2/35th Arty eventually commanding A/2/35th with the Australian Task Force south of Xuan Loc in Nui Dat.  
LTC William Wester was Bn CO in Ft Sill.  
Worthy of note is that the 7/8th temporarily expanded to 5 batteries at Ft Sill to provide BCT to an overflow of recruits from Ft Jackson.
Each of the batteries was responsible to conduct BCT on a one time basis for about 200 soldiers. Others who happen upon your website might find that an interesting fact about the Battalion.  I went on to complete a 20 year career, retiring in 1982 as a LTC.
